Bulaong Ramiz

Dr. Bulaong "Bu" Ramiz is a Black and Boricua Queer Muslim activist, advocate, and mama who has dedicated her life to creating communities rooted in equity, justice, and accountability. After retiring from her full-time career as a higher education professional, she transitioned to consulting where she supports organizations that align their rhetoric and espoused values with their policies and practices, shifting organizational cultures away from the status quo toward more equitable and relationship-centered ways of being.

In a practice of liberation, Dr. Bu loves to spend time gardening, playing with her daughter, trying new restaurants, and finding new comrades at protests and organizing meetings. She dreams of one-day doing stand-up comedy and repatriating to her motherland of Boriken.

Dr. Bu holds a BA in American Studies from Wesleyan University, a MS in Counselor Education from Central Connecticut State University, and an EdD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Kansas.
