J.T. Martin is a white, fat, queer, panromantic, genderqueer human navigating being an aspiring liberation-oriented social justice educator, practitioner, and organizer. They earned their M.A. in Higher Education Administration, and B.A. in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.

They currently serve as the Director of LGBTQ+ Initiatives and Resources at Mount Holyoke College. Previously, they held positions at Amherst College, primarily as the Director of the Queer Resource Center in the Office of Student Affairs, in Amherst, MA. Their primary role on campus was to support LGBTQ+ students throughout their journey in college, navigating and negotiating identities, connection to community, and structures within and without the institution. During their tenure at Amherst, they also served as Interim Assistant Dean of Students for Identity and Cultural Resources, providing supervisory support to the Office of Identity and Cultural Resources, while guiding critical structural and operational innovations.

As an organizer, they've worked in justice-based organizing work for over 10 years, both on and off-campus with New York Students Rising, as well as labor organizing with the CWA Local 1104, Graduate Employees Union, Stony Brook's May Day Coalition, Northampton Abolition Now, and others. They're dedicated to actualizing a more justice liberated world that we all need and deserve.
